From Avignon: Wine Tour Châteauneuf du Pape Half Day Tour

Really enjoyed the tour. Both wineries were amazing in different ways. We had a fun group of 8 (Not traveling together) which made for a great time. Our guide was friendly and informative. I would recommend the trip to friends and would do again.

Jeremy, our tour guide was very knowledgeable on the wine industry and provided insight to the making of wines in the Rhone valley. He was pleasant, courteous and went out of his way to insure we had a good experience. Thankfully, the weather in October was sunny and warm but can be quite windy so be prepared. I would highly recommend this half day afternoon wine tour.

Our guide Florian was the best. He was local to the region and educated on the way and back about the region's wine making. We stopped at two wineries (errr - chateaus/domains?). At the first, the tour through their wine-making facilities was amazing because we got to see all the phases from grape to bottled wine. The second stop was a deeper exploration of how to taste wine and how to guess its age and ABV. Then we stopped to see the ruins of the pope's residence. I snuck a single grape off a vine here (sorry to whomever buys that bottle!) and it was the sweetest, most delicious grape I've ever tasted. I had high expectations for the wine we tasted but I felt the wines weren't that impressive. The tour was better than the tastings. I would definitely recommend this tour.
