1-day Cappadocia Red tour (group tour)
Pickup from your hotel around 09.30am.
The first stop is at Uçhisar Castle, the highest rock formation in the region. The guide will explain just how this amazing landscape came into existence.
Zelve Open Air Museum:
It is known as the longest used settlement in the Cappadocia region. In addition, this valley is the oldest settlement of the region. Christianity first began to spread here. There are many monasteries, stereotypes and settlements here. It attracts attention especially with its rock houses.
You will see the spectacular fairy chimneys in Love Valley. You will have a good chance to take unique photos.
Enjoy a buffet-style lunch in Avanos, offering a wide range of Turkish food including mezes, salads, meat and vegetarian dishes and desserts.
Still in Avanos, visit an authentic family-run pottery workshop located in Avanos. Clay from the Kızılırmak (Red) River was first used in pottery production by the Hitites prior to 1700BC and continues as an art form today. Watch a master demonstrate how to make a pot, and watch the the painters and glazers apply their delicate patterns. Have a go at the potter’s wheel yourself and make your own unique pot if you wish.
In Paşabağı (also known as Monks Valley because of the Chapel of Saint Simeon found there) wander through the unusual clusters of multi-headed mushroom-shaped “fairy chimneys” (rock formations).
Devrent Valley (“Imagination Valley”) – a stunning valley where you can spot natural rock formations in many recognisable shapes, including the famous camel-shaped rock. Use your imagination and see what other shapes you can find.
Return to your hotel approx 16.00pm.
1-day Cappadocia Yellow tour (group tour)
Rose Valley & Underground City Tour at 09:30am
You will be picked up from your hotel for Full day tour of South Cappadocia. In this day you will be able to see:
KIZILCUKUR: is an isolated valley behind Urgup. It has beautiful rock formation with some great hidden rock-carved churches. The most interesting part of this area is the countless tracks connecting the small villages and towns through vineyards and gardens like a spider net. It is always possible to see villagers working in the area and offering grapes, apples or apricots to you.
CAVUSIN: One of the oldest settlements in the area, Cavusin is situated 2km from Goreme, on the Göreme-Avanos road. The Church of St.John the Baptist offers a panoramic view of the village. This church and its paintigs date back to the 5th century, making the oldest church in the region. It had a large courtyard which is unusual for Cappadocia, this has been eroded away however.
Underground City: One of largest and deepest of the 40 others in Cappadocia. They both have eight floors, although not all are open to the public.
PIGEON HOUSE: Visit the pigeon houses and rock formations.
ONYX FACTORY: Our final stop will be at a local onyx factory to see a demonstration on carving and shoping onyx.
