It was a great trip! The caves are magnificent, I also liked the restaurant)) The driver Tausif stopped in all the places that interested me along the road and made it possible to photograph them. And more: in India, each tour involves a visit to some store. Tausif was my only driver/guide for two weeks of traveling who wasn't overly persistent, urging me to visit the store. Thank you! It was most comfortable tour.

Great full-day private-car tour of Ajanta and Ellora Caves with the friendly and professional driver Samad, who picked me up at Aurangabad Airport at 6:15 AM (IndiGo from BOM) and we set-off for the 2-hour drive to Ajanta. There was time to eat a quick breakfast at 8:00 AM before the Ajanta Caves open at 9:00 AM. After about 3-hours at Ajanta, we continued on to Ellora, about 90-minutes to 2-hours away, with another quick stop for lunch. After Ellora, you may have time to stop by a saree weaving/handloom workshop and drive through a few of Aurangabad's impressive 52 city gates. Easy communication with the tour agency owner Sherkhan via the GYG app and Whatsapp before and after the tour, to ensure a smooth process. Then a drop-off back at the airport (or train station if needed). It's a long day, but the murals/paintings at Ajanta and the intricate rock-cut carvings at both sites are truly marvels to behold and well-worth their UNESCO World Heritage Site status. Highly Recommended!

1-Day Ajanta and Ellora Caves Tour Itinerary from Aurangabad 7:30 AM – Departure from Aurangabad Your day begins with a prompt 7:30 AM start from Aurangabad, where you’ll be picked up for a comfortable drive to the Ajanta Caves. 9:30 AM – Arrive at Ajanta Caves Explore the stunning Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its exquisite rock-cut temples and ancient Buddhist murals. Spend about 2 hours marveling at the intricate artistry and learning about the historical significance of these caves, which date back to the 2nd century BCE. 12:00 PM – Lunch Break Enjoy a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant, where you can recharge before continuing your tour. 1:00PM - After lunch we will proceed towards Ellora caves. Ellora is 100 kms from Ajanta. it will be a 2 hours drive. 3:00 PM – Head to Ellora Caves Next, you’ll travel to the Ellora Caves, another UNESCO-listed site. Famous for its diverse mix of Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain temples, the Ellora complex features the remarkable Kailasa Temple, a monolithic wonder carved out of a single rock. You'll have about 2 hours to explore and admire the architecture. 5:00 PM – Return to Aurangabad After a day of exploring these awe-inspiring historical sites, you'll head back to Aurangabad, arriving by early evening. 6:00 PM – Arrival in Aurangabad Tour concludes as you’re dropped off at your hotel or designated location, bringing a memorable day to an end.
