Spend a day in Auckland's agricultural region, exploring Muriwai Beach and the gannet colonies, sampling homegrown wine at local wineries, and even tasting homemade honey made by native bees.
What to Expect
Spend the day exploring Auckland's agricultural region, where you can see fruit orchards, sample local wines and honey products, and watch the gannet colonies at Muriwai's black sand beaches.
Travel through rolling fields of sheep and cattle toward Muriwai, a seaside enclave famous for its black sand beaches. Here you will see the native gannets as they court, mate, and raise their young to prepare for their annual migration.
Afterward, head to Matua Valley Winery and the House of Nobilo to enjoy a tasting of one of their homegrown wines.
The day will end at Bees Online, a honey producer where you can sample local New Zealand flora honey and organic medicinal honey, and peruse their assortment of all-natural products, including bee pollen capsules, face creams, and supplements.
