The ferry trip was excellent as was the hop-on/off bus. Downside was that the bus only ran every hour so hopping on and off had to be really thought out beforehand. I understand it is winter though and the service needs restricted due tourist numbers being reduced.

Upon arrival, exit Waiheke Island’s Mātiatia Ferry Terminal and catch the Hop-On Hop-Off Explorer Bus. The bus stops at a selection of top vineyards, restaurants, shops, art galleries, beaches and nature walks. Know before you go

  • Please note that the tour does not operate on Christmas Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Anzac Day
  • Tickets are valid for the date that you select
  • All vouchers must be presented to the ticket office and exchanged for boarding passes 60 minutes prior to sailing
  • The ferry departs from Auckland every 60 minutes from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily, increasing to 30 minutes at peak times.
