Full description
Discover the exciting new water sport of stand-up paddleboarding, or SUP. In this introduction to SUP session you will be taught the basics by International Surfing Association (ISA) qualified instructors.
The course will cover an introduction to the equipment, safety on the water, and paddling basics and techniques such as Stance, Turning, Paddle Stroke, Board Control and more.
The introduction lesson also covers the fundamental skills of board handling and water safety, including self-rescue, hazard awareness, balance, paddling straight, turning, stopping and more.
As students develop skills and gain confidence, participants could go for a distance paddle, or combine some games and team challenges to tune their skills. At the end of the session and if time permits, there may be an opportunity for freedom paddling within the bay.
