Hobbiton is wonderful, very worth the visit. The Hobbiton guides are excellent and pleasant. The included lunch was phenomenal. The third-party tour provider, Great Sights, left quite a bit to be desired. Working with them pre-tour to coordinate transportation was excruciatingly difficult and left me wanting to cancel the trip entirely a few times. The transportation from Auckland to Hobbiton was fine, however on the way back the driver gave an entire bus of guests (30+) people only 5 minutes at the gift shop after promising multiple times over the course of the day that there would be ample time to do the gift shop at the end. 5 minutes isn't even enough time to get 30 people off of the bus and into the shop. Driver was very keen to return to Auckland due to having been scheduled on another tour early the following morning and was driving very "assertively" causing a less than pleasant return ride and being dropped off in the middle of Auckland, not at the designated location.
