Welcome to the Atomium, the icon of a Belgium rooted in the present and facing the future. Built for the World's Fair in 1958, the Atomium is much more than a monument: it's a unique experience where science, heritage and history meet. With its spectacular silhouette representing an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times, it has become the symbol of Brussels and Belgium. The Atomium offers you the most beautiful panoramic view of Brussels, while you marvel at a variety of exhibitions. The permanent exhibition retracing more than 65 years of the history of the former Expo 58 pavilion. More than half of the tour is dedicated to installations with themes revolving around the digital arts. Currently, the Atomium invites you to discover CENTRALE – a digital experience, immersing you in sound & light, Echoes of Distant Lights – a laser creation that invites you to a poetic and aesthetic reflection on light, space and time, and CROSSING – a digital and symphonic work where art and technology are combined. The Atomium ticket automatically includes the entrance to the Design Museum Brussels, 150 m away. Discover our shops offering a wide range of unique souvenirs.
