My friend and I loved this experience! We're both studying abroad in Athens, and didn't have means of transportation to get us all the way to Meteora/Kalambaka, so this was the perfect setup. Our guide was knowledgeable and made the experience really fun. It was great to hear about the place from her perspective since she's grown up around the monasteries. The only thing I would critique would be the tight schedule. There were a few times we felt a bit rushed - like when we first got off the train and had to rush through breakfast, as well as from monastery to monastery. However, it is a necessary evil to see as much as we did in a day. For any future travelers, I would suggest bringing snacks or energy drinks (it's an early and long train ride!) to keep your spirits up. Otherwise, absolutely wonderful trip that I highly recommend if you have a free day for adventure!

Maria was very friendly, informative and made the day most enjoyable. Her own personal stories about growing up in the area gave the tour a more personal touch which I liked. We visited three monasteries (with ample time in each of them) and also stopped at wonderful viewpoints to enjoy views of all 6 monasteries, plus the valley and further! The 4-hour train ride (to and back) is tiring, but the visit and views at Meteora was worth the travelling. (someone also mentioned - make sure you bring snacks for the train ride!)

Quite a long trip to Meteora and back - but totally worth it! Beautiful landscape, fantastic history, and our guide was so knowledgeable and fun, she not only taught us so much about this spot but also talked about her personal experiences in that area which was a nice addition. Totally recommend!
