Our overall experience from Athens to Meteora was wonderful and one to be repeated, thanks to "Get Your Guide." The area is such a unique and intriguing place but our guide, Antonias with Meteora Rocks, made all the difference for us. He was so informative and he stayed focused and interpretative about what we were seeing and the history involved. Certainly the peaks and monasteries are outstanding to see but having his expertise on the area gave deep insight into what we were seeing. He really made the trip so much more rewarding for my parents and me. He also gave us choices and options so that we might make the most of our time there. We enjoyed our overnight stay at Hotel Alexiou, a comfortable smaller 3 star hotel with a gorgeous view of the rocks from our sliding glass doors. It was clean and the staff was friendly and breakfast was good. We highly recommend Boufidis (Greek Tavern) for a traditional Greek meal. The setting is beautiful and great food.
Chris was a wonderful guide! He was knowledgeable and so very friendly. Hotel was in a great location near shops and restaurants. Loved our overnight!
