This trip is worth taking. It is a nice break from the city. The train trip was long but comfortable. Our tour guide, Damian, met us at the train station in Katerina. He was knowledgable and very nice. We went to the archeological site in Dion. You are given a ticket and allowed to tour the site alone. Damian gave us good suggestions, and we enjoyed walking around the site on our own. The site is interesting, especially since they are still excavating. We had lunch at a small family restaurant in Dion. The food was great. At the castle we were only able to walk around the exterior, but Damian gave us great information, and we felt like we saw all we needed. Last was Mt. Olympus. We walked up to the Bath of Zeus. The stories are so interesting, and the views incredible. We ended up having to take a bus back because the train was booked. It was perfectly comfortable if a little longer than the train.

My first proper tour in Greece The group was small less than 10 and the guides were young and passionate about the history of Greece ( no surprise) and the area around Olympus and ofc Olympus itself Genuinely warm and friendly and excited to see you enjoy the special places they love And to be honest the food was above average I have not eaten one bad thing since arriving and the roasted eggplant and loucaniko Greek sausage) at the lunch stop I had were excellent Would reccomend Mt Olympus is truly a special place And being part of the landscape ( if only for a moment) of the places you read about as a child/ youth was a very meaningful experience for me

It was a super good excursion the guide was really nice and explain a lot of things about the region! The only "bad" thing are the travel of train for 8h (but it was said) and I will have take more time in Dione site, however you have time to do all the site if you walk fast!
