Full description
Meet your guide at the Halandri Metro Station and journey to Delphi via bus. As you drive towards Delphi, you’ll see the sacred site emerge from two terraced rocks known as Fedriades.  Discover what the ancient Greeks called “the navel of the earth.” Visit the Oracle of Delphi, the holiest site in ancient Greece. For centuries, great figures of ancient history such as Alexander the Great and Cicero sought out the high priestess of Delphi’s divine prophecy. The Oracle would sit upon a tripod above a massive chasm. As she burned barley meal and laurel she would enter a divine trance and then serve as a medium to the god Apollo. Drink water from the sacred Castalia spring. Explore the archaeological museum of Delphi, and see artifacts from the Archaic through the Roman era, including the Sphinx of the Naxians, the Iniohos, and the statue of Antinoos. Afterward, enjoy a delicious homemade lunch at a nearby restaurant. Before returning to Athens, see the picturesque village of Arachova nestled in the foothills of Mt. Parnassus.

The tour was fantastic. The guide picked me up at Halandri metro station and we set off. Since I was the only one that day, I was able to ask all my questions and he answered everything. The complete ancient history of Greece. We have also talked about recent history. This man is a walking history book. I'm excited. The landscape around Delphi is fantastic and the place itself is fascinating. A must for anyone interested in history. On the way back we were still in Arachova. A great town. The whole day was wonderful, I can only recommend it. And many thanks to my guide, he really does his job fantastic. Always happy and see you next time. Silke

I really liked that this experience has you take public transit to a central meeting place to save time and reduce the carbon footprint of the excursion. The driver and guide were great. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Delphi was okay. You currently can't go above the stadium. It was a lot of travel to spend a couple hours seeing another set of ruins, but because of how important Delphi was I think it was worthwhile

Billy, our guide picked us up at the meeting point on time. On the way he informed us about the day's events. Since he is also an archaeologist, he was able to inform us very well about everything. As a result, the journey passed quickly. When we arrived in Delphi we had enough time and great weather so that we could take enough photos. After the museum we went towards Arachova for dinner and to take more photos. Bille was also helpful!
