Full description

Embark on an unforgettable guided day trip from Athens to Delphi, the navel of the ancient Greek world. Visit the Delphi Archeological Site and museum and see the Temple of Apollo, the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia, and more. Later, get free time to explore a scenic village.

The morning of your trip, meet your licensed tour guide and depart in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. The drive takes about 2.5 hours going each way, so sit back and enjoy the passing scenery as you pass through the Boeotia plains.

As you travel, begin to immerse yourself in Ancient Greece as your guide tells tales about ancient Greek mythology, King Oedipus, God Apollo, and more.

During a guided tour through the archaeological site, see some of the most important and unique archaeological monuments, such as the Temple of Apollo and its oracle, the Athenian Stoa, the Polygonal Wall.

Later, you can visit the Archaeological Museum of Delphi (entry fees paid on site), which hosts globally known pieces of art like the Sphinx of Naxos, the Statue of Antinous, the Siphnian Treasury, and the Charioteer of Delphi.

After the visit to Delphi, hop back on the bus to the multicolored village of Arachova, built on the mountainside. Get free time to arrange for lunch on your own at a traditional taverna (costs not included).

Take time to go on a stroll around the village’s narrow alleys, enter some artisanal shops for local delicacies, and admire the local hand-woven carpets. In the late afternoon, depart for your return to Athens, on another 2.5-hour drive.

Excellent visit to the site of Delphi, the museum and stop at Arachova. Everything was perfectly organized with a comfortable bus. Our guide Elizabeth told us about the history, the culture (in English) and accompanied us for the visits, bringing these majestic sites back to life. I recommend choosing between having lunch in Arachova or taking a sandwich to enjoy the village and climb to the top of the clock tower from where the view is superb, according to your desires. On a beautiful sunny day in December it was uncrowded and the landscapes are sumptuous.

This was a fabulous trip with our amazing guide Mariza. I've never seen anyone as enthusiastic and knowledgable as Mariza. The coach bus was lovely and comfortable and at the beginning of the trip Mariza took the time to learn every single person's name and called us by name the entire day. The visit to Delphi and to Arachova were both great. I recommend this highly. Thank you Mariza and to our driver Michael who was also very safe and took care of us.

Was a good trip. Saw all we wanted to see and maybe more. Was a long trip, which we knew it would be. As with any tour you sometimes feel rushed, especially in the museum because their is not time to see everything - just the highlights. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to go to Delphi. Just know it is a long, all day trip. But I feel it was worth it for us. Lunch was very good at the restaurant we were taken to in Arachova.
