The guide, Yannis, was absolutely brilliant! He did a great job and was very knowledgeable, as he had studied archeology, unlike some (most?) tourist guides who just memorize lines. His narration helped bring the old sculptures and ancient buildings to life, to a much greater extent than the guidebooks and info signs manage. 3 hours on the bus, both ways, initially seemed like a lot, but it went by quickly, as we were entertained by the stunning views, and interesting stories from the guide about Greece and the Greek people nowadays. What could be better? More time! It was a bit stressful at the archeological site, and we did not have enough time to go to the top and back.
John the Archeologist truly made this trip exciting and informative. I would highly recommend him for any of your tours around Athens you can book with him.
