Full description

After pickup from your hotel in Athens, start the 2.5-hour journey to Delphi. Once you have arrived, begin your day exploring the rich and ancient history of this famous city.   Visit some of the city's most famous archeological sites. First, you will explore the sanctuaries of Apollo and Athena Pronaia before heading to the ancient stadium and theater. Continue to the Delphi ruins and the Temple of Apollo, before heading to the Delphi Archaeological Museum. See archeological artifacts and learn more about the rich history of Delphi at the museum.   You have the option to spend 2 hours visiting the village of Arachova, where you can enjoy coffee or lunch. Alternatively, you can choose to have lunch or coffee in Delphi instead. After exploring Delphi and relaxing over lunch, begin the 2.5-hour journey back to Athens.

An excellent full day trip to Delphi. The driver, Notis, picked us up on time at 9:00 from our hotel and explained the itinerary to us in detail. We managed to visit the ancient sites and the museum in about 3 hours and had a late lunch at Vakhos on the driver's recommendation - great views, good food and reasonably priced. We started back at 4 pm and the return journey took 3 hours. Notis kindly requested and got the trip extended by an hour at no extra cost.

Delphi was really great, and seeing the Greek countryside was amazing as well. Have to be in decent shape to get to the top in heat though. Quite stunning views. My guide (Dimitri) was absolutely fantastic, really could not have been any better. I have taken a lot of these trips all over the world and he was first rate. Thanks Dimitri for a great day!!!
