Full description

Explore the most famous sights of ancient Greece on this guided day trip to magical Delphi. Spend an entire day learning about the oracle and discovering ancient ruins including the amphitheater and the Temple of Apollo.

Your tour departs from Athens, from where you will travel to Delphi, located on the spur of Mount Parnassus, making a short rest stop outside the town of Levadia. Arrive in Delphi, and visit the famous theater, where you will enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, and get an insight into the world of the Ancient Greeks. Visit the Temple of Apollo, the center of Ancient Greece, and best-known for its famous oracle. Tour the Museum of Delphi, home to a unique bronze Charioteer, the Naxian Sphinx, and the Statue of Antinoos, providing an amazing insight into Ancient Greek culture and history.

After a lunch break, visit Athena Pronaia Sanctuary (depending on the local authority's permission), the most photographed spot in Delphi.

Then, head back to Athens via the beautiful mountain village of Arachova, situated on the hills of the Parnassus Mountains, where the tour will stop for a short photo opportunity.

The bus picked us up punctually at the agreed point to take us to Delphi. The guide, Andrés, was very attentive, he explained to us great both in the museum and in the site. The place they took us to eat was great, very homemade, natural and well prepared. If you don't have the food reserved you can eat with the group that does or go to the town (but you will have to walk). The only drawback it had was that in the group we coincided with four unpresentable people who dedicated themselves to sharing their conversation with the whole bus until they fell asleep and when it was time to eat they got mad with the guide because "they wanted to choose where to eat and the town was far away. Andrés's attention to them is impeccable despite his lack of education.

well organized tour and good and helpful guide (Marianna). We only paid for the tour with audio guide (around 58 euros) but in the end we were included in the guided tour in English. Avoid lunch at the restaurant (Symposium): the food is good but expensive; bring your own lunch, you will only have an hour. the visit to the archaeological site and the museum is interesting but too fast, there was no time to see many works. in any case, an excellent solution to visit Delphi in a day from Athens.

Stevie was a great guide - very knowledgeable and helpful. I loved Delphi - it was amazing. The lunch stop was also lovely and I was surprised at the quality and quantity of lunch we got included. Only negative, the itinerary said we stopped in a couple of places to take pictures of pretty villages etc we passed and we didn't do that
