Discover Delphi on a guided tour from Athens. Visit the Temple of Apollo and Delphi Archaeological Museum and take in the views of the Greek countryside.

Depart Athens and drive through the fertile plain of Boeotia, crossing the town of Thebes, world-renowned for its tragic story of King Oedipus. Continue through the picturesque towns of Livadeia and Arachova on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Upon arrival at Delphi, explore the "Omphalos" ("Navel of the Earth").

Marvel at the ruins of an ancient sanctuary that grew rich as the seat of the oracle. Learn how its influence extended beyond the confines of the Hellenic world, and take in the views of a landscape of unparalleled beauty. See the remains of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios, and visit the Treasury of the Athenians. Look at the remaining columns of the Temple of Apollo, and go to the Delphi Archaeological Museum where masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture can be found.

Look at the legendary Charioteer of Delphi, regarded as one of the finest bronze sculptures of the ancient world. See the statue of the athlete Aghias and other artifacts from antiquity. Enjoy lunch in the modern village of Delphi, before the return trip to Athens by the same route (if selected). A short stop in Arachova will be provided for your comfort.

Good trip. We hit the highlights and the timing was about right - just enough time to get to the stadium before time to leave for the museum. Our guide was great. We were impressed that she was able to do it in both English and French! One downside - we had several people going to Meteora, and some on three day trips, and of course some French speakers. We felt like we lost a fair bit of time to repeated instructions to people taking different paths, all in two languages. It would have been five starts if this had been just an English tour to just Delphi.

Great tour. I was a little confused on the meeting point, but we ended up following one of the organizers to the right bus. Kostas is a great driver. Our two tour guides were great, entertaining and gave lots of information. I am glad we skipped the lunch option because there were more choices in the small village. Though I wish we had more time to visit the other site, I thought it was included in the tour but it is not. Other than that definitely would recommend!

An excellent day seeing Delphi. We would recommend a guide for most sites in Greece, otherwise you can miss so much of the finer detail. Our guide Effie had so much knowledge of Delphi and pointed out so many other interesting facts on route. Visiting the museum was also of benefit as Effie could pick out the more significant items to see with a detailed explanation. To try and see these sites only using a guide book would be difficult to understand and you would not get the full picture. Socrates the driver was also good stopping right outside the sites whilst we disembarked. Well worth the money.
