Meteora is amazing, so grateful we got to go and experience this unique place! Booking this tour took all of the planning and stress off of us so we could just enjoy the whole experience. We enjoyed our tour guide, Dimitri, very much and he was very professional, prompt, knowledgeable, and personable!! He made us laugh the moment the tour began. Would recommend to others and would do it again!

The scenery is spectacular and the monasteries are a step back in time. A marvelous building feat and so tranquil, despite the many tourists. A challenge for those with a fear of heights, but doable. Our guide Harry was very personable and knowledgeable. Driver Costos was super helpful and took photos for me so that I could be in them. The train ride from Athens is very long (4 hours); the return train ride for me was an additional hour longer as we had a delayed stop at a station in between. So 9 hours on the train in all. Looking back, it was well worth it.

One-day visit departing from Athens. We took the train in the morning from Athens central station (don't panic, it's a very small station) at 7:55 a.m. and we arrived at 12:05 p.m. Plan a snack for lunch or buy food on the train, We visited three monasteries, they are very well maintained. The sites are magnificent The visit ends around 4:30 p.m. and that leaves a little time to have a real meal in the city center of Kalambaka before taking the train at 6:03 p.m. Even if it's been a long day from Athens station, I recommend this activity ! The only downside the price of visiting the monasteries should be included in the initial price
