Full description

Travel back in time on an informative and fun tour of the Acropolis of Athens. Guided by a field expert and licensed tour guide, discover the UNESCO World Heritage site through a journey into history, mythology, and storytelling.

Continue with a visit to the Acropolis Museum, which has been ranked as one of the top museums in the world. All the original surviving masterpieces from the temples of the Acropolis are displayed with the use of natural light. Excavations are also visible under glass floors and walkways. Visit Acropolis hill. See the Dionysus Theater, where famous ancient dramas and tragedies were first performed. Walk around the stunning Odeon of Herodes Atticus and the sanctuary of the healing god Asclepius.

On the top of the hill, visit the Propylea Temple of Nike and the Erechtheion Temple. See the Parthenon, which is the symbol of democracy and western civilization. Dating back to the 5th-century, these monuments are testimonials of the glorious ancient Athens and the Golden Age of Pericles. At the Acropolis Museum, explore the ground floor where exhibited artifacts reveal facets of the Athenian daily life. Get to know wedding customs, children's favorite toys, healing techniques, and religious practices.

On the first floor, stand at a breathing distance from the mysterious archaic statues of the 6th century, which once adorned the Acropolis. Be fascinated as you walk next to the Caryatids and huge pieces of the Acropolis entrance.

On the final floor, next to the breathtaking view of the Acropolis, admire the original unique concept and artistic excellence Parthenon frieze.

Awesome Tour! Our family of six adults took the Acropolis, Parthenon and Museum Tour with skip-the-line tickets the first weekend in May. Not only did we beat the crowds by reserving the early morning tour, but we beat the heat of the day and walked right into the museum as well. Alexia, our amazing guide, was very skilled in explaining the history with just enough info to keep us engaged. Her passion for ancient history was the highlight of the tour - so refreshing to have someone share what they love. Easy to hear the tour with provided earphones and ample time for photos. Best tour on our Greek vacation. Highly recommend this tour!

Alexia is amazing knowledgeable and passionate with Greek history and archaeology. She is also entertaining. Dont worry about juggling with paying attention to the historical facts and taking picture as she not only gives you enough time to take pictures, but also offers to take it for you.

We toured the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum on May 19, which we thought was a little ahead of the busiest part of summer. Maybe it was, but it was still jam-packed. And there must be many “avoid the line” tour companies because even “with tickets” we had to wait 30+ minutes to get in. Then the climb up and down from the Acropolis was like cattle. And way too many people who shouldn’t have done the climb (super-old with disabilities) during the busiest time. Long way of getting around to saying that having a tour guide is CRITICAL if only because you spend so much time in line and climbing that without someone explaining, it’s a pile of marble. And, DO THE MUSEUM! The guide’s explanation of what we were gonna see was so important.
