This was an excellent tour and Dino the tour guide was excellent! Understand you will need to take the train by yourself. I had some worries because I didn't know that the train ends where you get off for the tour. Take toilet paper and hand sanitizer for train. Bring your own drink and breakfast on train which can be purchased cheaply at Everest cafe inside train station. The train station in Athens is small. Not like in USA. Maybe ear buds for music and a book for the train is 4 hours each way. 1st monastery has 175 steps, 2nd 50-75, & 3rd just about 10 total. Dino would do well to offer a phone call to Fiesta Pizza at end of tour so passengers can get dinner to take back on train. I saw the young man on the scooter deliver to train station. We could pay at train station when food is delivered! BTW, the toilets at monasteries are simply a hole in ground. Women, bring a portable female urinal found on Amazon. Really fantastic day!!

We were met by the guide immediately after exiting the train, starting the trip of on an excellent foot. The guide, Dino, was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly, answering all of our questions. The minibus we used as transportation was very comfortable and they were equipped with a cooler and water for all the passengers. The organization of the trip was also perfect. There were stops for food, stops for pictures and of course the stops for the monasteries. Overall the trip was very enjoyable and an opportunity to learn and explore a lot.

Dino is a really great guide. He knows so much about Meteora have grown up in a village adjacent to Kalambaka. He explains a lot as you go along and you really grow in an appreciation for the monks who built these monastaries. He also takes you atop probably the most gorgeous views in Meteora and you can see amazing panoramas of the region. Definitely book a tour with him!
