Immerse yourself in local life at the small village of Tengeru on a half-day trip from Arusha. Explore farming communities and coffee plantations, learn to grind your own coffee beans, and enjoy a rustic lunch at a village homestead.
What to Expect
Immerse yourself in north Tanzania’s rural life on a 6-hour tour with lunch of the local village of Tengeru. Traveling in small groups of no more than 12 people, for a more personalized experience, you will depart from the Impala Hotel in Arusha and journey by local bus, for approximately 20 minutes outside of the city.
On arrival, take a walk through the narrow village roads and mingle with locals as they go about their daily lives. You will have the services of an English speaking guide who will show you coffee and other crops being farmed. Then, settle down to a lunch at a family home. This is a great opportunity to sample the local cuisine and interact with some of the villagers.
Afterwards, try your hand at roasting and grinding your own coffee. Finish by sampling a refreshing cup of your own brew, then jump back on the public bus to return to Arusha.
