After starting the journey with you from Ella, we are aiming to be in the YALA National Park at dawn or dusk. These are two of the best times of the day, which gives you the highest chance of spotting the elusive Sri Lankan leopards, which is a leopard subspecies native to Sri Lanka. YALA boasts approximately a hundred individual leopards. What happens on a typical day on safari? A. Pick-up time at 3.00 a.m. - from the Ella/ Bandarawela/ Wellawaya area. All pick up times - (Morning Safari - 3.00 a.m. / Afternoon Safari - if you want to have lunch before the safari select 11.15 a.m. / else 11.45 a.m.) The time in the Morning Safari (3.00 a.m.) is the most recommended. Please adjust the times in the itinerary according to the pickup time you select. Transfer vehicle is an Air-conditioned car or minivan with luggage space and on SHARING BASIS. B. Get down from the transfer vehicle and get into the SHARING SAFARI VEHICLE. - at Tissamaharama at around 5.30 a.m. You can safely leave your luggage in the taxi, while you are enjoying the safari. Here, you can have 30 minutes break to have lunch before the safari by selecting the 11.15 a.m. pickup time in Afternoon Safari. (You can additionally buy lunch from us - USD 10 Per Person) C. Morning Wildlife Safari/ 1st Game Drive (Starting at 6.00 a.m.) D. Break at Patanangala Beach in YALA National Park (20-30 minutes) This will give you time to enjoy your breakfast (You can additionally buy breakfast from us - USD 8 Per Person) E. Morning Wildlife Safari/ 2nd Game Drive (Ending at around 9.30 a.m.) F. Get down from the safari vehicle and get into the transfer vehicle (Air-conditioned Car or minivan) - at Tissamaharama at around 10.00 a.m. G. You may be able to witness the wild elephants by the side of the road while passing the Lahugala area H. Drop-off time at around 1.00 p.m. - any hotel in and around Arugambay area.
