Pedestrian route through the 8 Km that make up the award-winning Paiva walkways, complemented by the adventurous cross of the largest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world, 516 Arouca. The 516 Arouca bridge is the largest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world and is located in Arouca, in the Aveiro district, Portugal. With 516 meters in length and an elevation of 175 meters, it connects the banks of the Paiva River. While crossing the bridge, you will have a breathtaking view over Garganta do Paiva and Cascata das Aguieiras, both sites of the UNESCO Arouca Geopark territory. 516 Arouca Bridge is located in Arouca, next to the famous Passadiços do Paiva. Along the way, you will be able to interpret the main points of geological interest, such as the Paiva Gorge, the Aguieiras waterfall, the beautiful river beach of Vau, the Gola do Salto or the Espiunca fault, without forgetting the aspects of biodiversity. In the latter case, hopefully, you might even see otters.

Go down a section of Paiva River, between Paradinha Village and Areínho River Beach, with an estimated duration of 3 hours. It provides an introductory experience to Rafting, passing through the rapids of the Paiva River. The descent is also preceded by a Jeep Tour to the traditional village, with stops at some of the most emblematic geosites of Paiva Valley, such as Paiva Gorge.

Join the adventure of canyoning at Rio Frades and experience one of the greatest things to do close to Porto. This canyoning tour in the middle of the Arouca Geopark takes you along the crystal clear stream where you pass fun jumps, exciting natural water slides as well as breathtaking rappelling passages. As most obstacles are not mandatory but there is always the possibility to test your limits, this is the ideal tour for both cautious beginners and daring thrill seekers. We meet at the town hall of Arouca (Câmara Municipal de Arouca), from where we start our way to the canyon. The trip takes about 25 minutes. You can either drive with your own car or we can take up to 7 participants with our vehicles. Before we start, you will receive the appropriate canyoning equipment and a detailed safety briefing from your guide. Then the adventure begins: We jump, slide and rope down over waterfalls. But don't worry, all jumps are optional and can be avoided if you don't dare to jump. If you are looking for an adrenaline rush, you can also try higher jumps. After 3 to 4 hours in the canyon we reach the end of the tour and return to the meeting point in Arouca by car.
