From Los Cristianos: No-Chase Whale and Dolphin Cruise

1. From Los Cristianos: No-Chase Whale and Dolphin Cruise

Join an eco-friendly, no-chase whale and dolphin cruise from Los Cristianos. Explore Tenerife South's marine life with the only cruise company in Spain that collaborates with the Sea Shepherd UK and the Dolphin Project non-profit organizations to ensure a safe and conscious whale watching experience. Depart the Los Cristianos harbor on a boat that can go further than a 3-mile radius due to the qualified captains onboard, which is highly advantageous to spot larger whales and other species. Set out to visit resident short-finned pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins as well as other species. Fin whales, sperm whales, blue whales, and even orcas can be seen on your tour. Keep an eye out for migrating turtles, tuna, and even sharks.  Listen to your guide tell you about the ecosystems of the region. Learn about the habits of the resident dolphins in front of the cliffs of Los Cristianos. As you cruise, enjoy the view of Mount Teide and the southern coast of Tenerife. Feel comfortable knowing that the whales and dolphins are always put first. To make sure that they are not disturbed, they are not forced to dive, an important part of ethical whale watching. Observe them in your natural environment and see how they naturally behave.

Tenerife: Kayaking and Snorkeling with Turtles

2. Tenerife: Kayaking and Snorkeling with Turtles

Climb aboard for a kayaking adventure in Tenerife and get up close and personal with dolphins and turtles in their natural environment. Observe the amazing creatures from a vessel that does not frighten them or disturb their natural habitat. Be surrounded by pods of up to 30 dolphins that sometimes put on a show by jumping high into the air. Home to up to 5 different species of dolphins, including bottlenose dolphins, the waters just off the island’s coast are ideal to marvel at these lovable creatures. While the bottlenose dolphins are the easiest to spot, other species inhabit the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, including rough-toothed dolphins, striped dolphins, and common dolphins. As wild animals, views cannot be guaranteed, but there is a 95% chance that you will encounter the animals on your trip. Get an optional swimming break and snorkel with turtles and bull rays in a bay only accessible by kayak as a bonus. Usually, within a few minutes, curious turtles arrive and get very close, swimming around and in between you. Also, bull rays regularly glide elegantly along the sea bed underneath you.

Your adventure will begin in the morning when the ocean is still very calm. Begin with kayaking instructions and all the safety measures needed for a great time on the sea. At this hour of the morning, enjoy the relaxing atmosphere as you get into the kayak on the empty beach of Playa de Los Cristianos.   Start paddling along the harbor, exiting into the open sea followed by seagulls for around 30 minutes to get out to where the dolphins pass by. You can enjoy a great time watching the dolphins playing around and sometimes doing a really wild show.   After around 1 hour, we will paddle away gently, trying as much possible not to disrupt the dolphins’ morning routine. What people are saying about Arona, Tenerife

We’ve been there in December 2022 and it has been a great experience! The pick point at the port was very easy to find and the crew was very professional and friendly. The guide was very skilled and came to us to better explain about the different species of resident whales and dolphins and the organization. We also liked the fact that they are the only company in Spain collaborating with sea shepherds Uk and the dolphin project a nn-profit organization supporting a conscious and safe whales and dolphins watching. I highly recommend this experience.

Lots of dolphins and whales spotted. The captains took very good account of the space that the whales and dolphins need. They were not disturbed by the drill. Very good explanation, even in Dutch!

Excellent activity, we were able to see what was announced, only B mol, there must have been explanations in French which we did not have while on the bridge we were a good 20 of French.

We have seen lots of whales and dolphins without chasing them. Great crew And great experiences

Great experience with great guide that speaks many languages. We saw both whales and dolphins.
