The tour focuses on the city of Santa Cruz, located north-east of the island, between the Anaga Massif and its own bay. It was founded the 3rd of May, 1494. In this year the conqueror of Tenerife (Advanced Fernández de Lugo) nailed a cross and this historical event gave the city its name. Between 1833 and 1927 Santa Cruz was the sole capital of the Canary Islands and today is the island and the province. Its port is one of the busiest in the Atlantic; connecting Europe, Africa and America. In 2012, the British newspaper The Guardian named Santa Cruz the fifth on the list that included the world's best cities in which to live. In the so-called Zona Centro (streets Castillo, San José or Viera y Clavijo, among others) or Zona Rambla (Rambla de Pulido, calle Ramón y Cajal) have many shops. Today the city has about 200,000 inhabitants.

The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra has two chambers: chamber and symphonic. The building, with its prominent wing, is located in the north-east of the Marine Park. Plaza España brings you to an emerging lake fountain, park pavilions in which cafes, restaurants, shops and bars and parking area are located. Here the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife is also found. The celebration of the popular and acclaimed Tenerife Carnival (Festivity of International Tourist Interest) has its hub in this public space and its surroundings .
The Church of the Conception is the main temple of the city, and pays homage to St. James. The church was built in Baroque Canarian style and its foundations is the first chapel built by the conquerors. In its facilities the cross Alonso Fernández de Lugo drove in their day to disembark in the city is also retained. The banner carried in procession during the festival of the 3rd of May commemorates the day when the city was founded.
