Darwin: Kakadu National Park Cultural Day Tour with Lunch

Travel from Darwin to Kakadu on a day trip exploring the best of Kakadu National Park. See ancient rock art, unique plants, and wildlife, and spectacular bush views as you drive, walk and cruise through Kakadu. After pickup from your Darwin hotel, enter Kakadu National Park, and travel to Ubirr Rock, the site of some of the world’s oldest rock art. Join your guide on an interpretative walk through ancient rock galleries, and hear about the history and culture of the traditional custodians. There are plenty of opportunities for bushwalking, but the pace is slow, with plenty of stops to discuss the rock art and the history of those who painted it. Stop at Nadab Lookout for amazing 360-degree views over the wetlands of the Nadab floodplains, before continuing to East Alligator River. A descendant of the traditional owners will join you for a Guluyambi cultural cruise along the East Alligator River. The River which divides Kakadu and Arnhem Land is home to some of the region’s largest saltwater crocodiles. Feel honored to be invited onto Arnhem Land shores to see a cultural demonstration of how the Bininj people work with the waterways to this day. The Guluyambi cultural cruise is a great opportunity to hear about the area, history, and culture directly from the land's traditional custodians. The trip with Tim and our 6 companions was great. The stops were well planned and all activities were well chosen. There was always free water, lunch and snacks were very good. It was a great 4 days. However: You could also do the program in 3 days, so the 4-day tour is planned for a relaxed pace, if you have less time you should take the 3-day tour.

We had an enjoyable day, the guide Dennis on the billabong cruise was fantastic and we saw quite a few crocs! Our driver Michael was knowledgeable, especially during the walk in the park to see the rock art. Our lunch was delicious, I was worried about being on a coach but it was really lovely.

thank you to Ethan our tour guide, he was lovely and knowledgeable and answered all our questions and kept the day fun, bit on the expensive side for what you do but it is far away all in all we had a good day thank you

Amazing value for money. Mike and the boat captain shared loads of information about First Nations and the history of Darwin. It was a great day. I wouldn't change a thing. thank you

It could be good to cool down after the sailing trip in Kathrin Gorge. Maybe Edit Falls can come after the Kathrin gorge.
