Encounter some major rapids like Sunshine, Sledgehammer, the Narrows, and Wall slammer. Travel right under the Royal Gorge Bridge. Feel the challenge of rafting through steep sections of river as you plunge 65 feet per mile through one of Colorado’s most dramatic gorges. Return to the meeting point at the end of the tour.

This trip will encounter Class III rapids.

The Salida Valley is an enjoyable way for everyone to experience the Arkansas River. Small splashy rapids and lots of floating. A great way to spend the morning or afternoon with the whole family. Class I and II rapids are interspersed with sections of calm where you can relax and enjoy panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains, the blue heron, mallards and geese. We float through the open Arkansas River valley with stunning views of the Sawatch Mountain range of the Rocky Mountains are the backdrop for this trip. We also pass through the town of Salida, and get to experience the fun man made rapids in the play park. The trip ends at Salida East State Park access area.

Family Float is a gentle excursion that allows you to take in the beautiful surroundings from the unique view of the Arkansas River; it is perfect for those seeking some quality time in nature.
