You will get to interact with and learn all about sloths, capuchin monkeys, scarlet macaws, and parrots, with a guided tour through the park. Then, head to The Arch’s Iguana & Marine Park, one of the oldest animal sanctuaries on the island of Roatan. Established back in 1980 to protect iguanas, it is now home to over 4,000 iguanas, including the black spiny-tailed iguana that is native to Central America. After all the animal love, finish off with a beach break. Rest or make use of the facilities such as beach chairs, freshwater, WiFi, and showers before returning to your cruise ship or hotel, lunch, snacks and drinks also available for purchase.

Learn about the green iguana, and the spiny-tailed black iguana (also known locally as wishiwilly and/or garrobo), which have long been hunted for their flesh, skin, and eggs. These types of iguana are classified as endangered species, with the spiny-tailed black iguana classified as critically endangered, given that it is high on the list of poachers who hunt them for human consumption. Next, visit Daniel Johnson’s Family-run animal sanctuary featuring sloths, monkeys, tropical birds, and other exotic native species. After that a stop at the chocolate and rum factory, for free sample of home made chocolate and rum on the island, before relaxing on west bay beach and the use of the beach club facilities.
