Highlighted reviews from other travelers
Got to look out for signage on where to go, as there are a few operators in the building. The ground crew members were efficient and clear. Courteous and friendly, while being thorough to ensure everyone's safety. Getting on and off the heli, as well as buckling in, were smooth due to their care and attention. The heli rides over the valley to reach our dropoff points were awesome! Great pilots. Scott was our guide, and he was superb! Sharing with us his knowledge regarding glacier and other related information on the natural environment that we were in. Breathtaking sights and sounds, interesting hike on thick snow and through glacier formations. Due to the other different groups and activities they are doing, heli schedule may be affected, but the times are made full use of with a hike through snowy paths, at time challenging. This activity does require quite some strength and stamina; seems many adults (including younger ones) are tired at the end of it. Highly recommended activity!
This was awesome!!! Definitely a highlight to our long trip. We were very sad when our other helihike got canceled but it turned out to be for the best because the helihike to the Tasman glacier was amazing! Our guides, Jess and a guy whose name I can't remember, were the best!! They were so knowledgeable, taught us about the different features, how to move in the glacier, what to look for to avoid dangers... Jess also showed us how to secure ropes for rescuing or ice climb! On top of it all she took what has become one of the best pictures of our trip. It was such an amazing experience, I couldn't help shedding tears of joy when it was over. I can't recommend this enough! Thank you!!
