Amazing experience and views from the base camp. Javier and Cristian were great tour guides. Very supportive during the toughest parts of the hike, couldn't of managed without them both. Definitely will recommend to family and friends.

What an adventure! Miguel and Eduardo were amazing and supportive guides during our trek. I had a horrible spell of altitude sickness (coming from sea level Boston USA!) and they were very supportive in getting me up that volcano! Food was yummy, company was great. I enjoyed the decent much more- haha! For sure this trek is not for the faint of heart. Make sure you are prepared and rent the walking sticks! Unfortunately the conditions for the sunrise hike were poor which was a bummer so our group did not get to do that, but overall we had an awesome experience.

    Follow your guide up the trail to reach Acatenango Volcano. As you hike, enjoy stunning panoramic views of the mountains and valleys surrounding the volcano and take in the otherworldy volcanic landscapes. Along the way, stop to enjoy a delicious lunch.

    Camp at Basecamp

    Watch the glorious sunset over the mountains. Head back down to base camp in front of Fuego Volcano to set up camp with your guide. Eat dinner while taking in the sight of lava flowing and eruptions, and spend the night in a Form-A cabin and sleeping bag, 3,700 meters above sea level.

Return to Antigua

Very hard hike. The way to the volcano/basecamp is basically a constant incline with different terrain throughout. Our guide was Luis and he was absolutely awesome. Very knowledgeable and made the hike up a much better time. You are provided 3 meals throughout the hike. Pick up was nice and easy. Overall a great experience but definitely a challenging hike.
