Full description
Come and see the Pacaya Volcano: the most active volcano in Guatemala at 2,500 meters (more than 8,000 feet). Witness spectacular views of the lagoon of Calderas and three other volcanoes: Agua, Fuego and Acatenango. The surrounding area is an experience unto itself, composed in large part of humid forest and rocks. After a walk through volcanic sand paths, with great views of the volcanoes and unique vegetation, youÂŽll arrive at the plateau where you can see the main crater of the volcano. Today, you can't visit the crater of the volcano for security reasons, but you will see the lava (if active) and some steam baths created by the heat of the Pacaya Volcano. At the volcano, you'll have the opportunity to get an up-close look at the volcano. After a thrilling day of exploration and dramatic views, you will arrive back at your hotel.

Amazing experience. Hike was a bit challenging which I loved. Hiking shoes a must! Surprisingly it was very cold and very windy at the top, so pack a hoodie at least. Also pack a protein bar and water. Horses were available for those who couldn't trek it. Tour guide was very nice and informative. Highly recommend for adventure seekers who do not want to do the overnight hike đŸ‘ŒđŸ».

This was a wonderful tour! Everything was well organized, from our on-time pick-up from our hotel in Guatemala City, to the journey to the volcano. We were met with a local guide there, and felt safe the entire hike. We were also provided with marshmallows to roast on the volcano! Davis was an awesome tour guide! Answered our questions and guided us safely between the locations.

Absolutely loved the experience! Our guide was wonderful, he told us a lot about the area, trees/plants, history of the volcano and even history of the country as well. The hike is challenging! Wear good hiking boots and I recommend renting the walking stick at the start of the hike (10 quetzales per person). Also recommend bringing water and a light snack. The views are amazing, can't really be fully captured in photos! Highly recommend this tour.
