Overall the experience is what you pay for! A little crowded on the transportation to the hike and small but effective meals. The guides were great but don’t speak a lot of English which we were prepared for. Now for the hike… it’s hard. Especially if you choose to add Fuego to your first day. I’d highly recommend doing some training before attempting this hike. It is tough! We were a group of three guys in our 30s, well above average fitness level, and we thought it was one of the harder hikes we’ve ever done. Once in a lifetime experience because I don’t think I could be convinced to do it again 😂

It’s an AMAZING experience. We saw the volcanos erupting in the top. The hike is SUPER hard, you definitely need to be in a good shape to make it to the top. It’s a seven hour hike on a steep mountain, the road is very very challenging and tiring. We needed a small break every 15 minutes. Please please take water and snacks. TAKE A LAMP!!! You might climb the Fuego volcano at night and if you have no lights you will not see the road and that’s dangerous, you can easily fall from a cliff. But if you make it, you will never forget the experience, it’s incredible. Coming down was so fast for us, took around 2,5 hours running down, but my legs 4 days since the. 😁 Also, if when people tell you to climb 1,5h additional to the Fuego, don’t do it, it’s a waste of time and energy. From the base camp you have perfect view of eruptions.
