Antigua: Overnight Volcano Acatenango Hiking Adventure

Our guides Christian and Samuel were great! The hike was very difficult but totally worth it. Being warm clothes for the night, and a pillow. The hike to fuego is worth it!

My guides (Christian and Samuel) made this trip truly enjoyable! They did a great job of keeping the group together and gave us some great regional information. The organization of the trip itself was great too. The smaller group numbers is definitely worth the extra money. Meals were great too for the most part but it would’ve been nice to have more protein.

This activity was an incredible lifetime experience! Christian and Samas were awesome guides with a great sense of humor. There were 7 of us in the group which was the perfect sized group, allowing us to hike fairly quickly and get to know each other. At the base camp there’s an option to do a sunset trek for Q225 to the ridge of Volcan de Fuego, which is tough but highly recommend it! (if you have the energy) Additionally our guides offered a sunrise hike to the summit of Acatenango which had stellar views. Highly recommend this awesome, unforgettable experience! Etc: -The pickup spot is accurate but other tours use the same pickup spot and same time, so check with the driver to confirm the tour name. -you can rent hats, gloves, headlamps, poles. Highly recommend for the sunset/sunrise hikes. -bring a good amount of water (2.5-3L), TP, hand sanitizer, and layers especially for the evening/early morning…it gets cold at base and the summit!
