Antigua: 2-Day Acatenango Volcano Hike w/Local Guide & Meals

Discover Acatenango Volcano: A Two-Day Hiking Expedition Embark on an unforgettable two-day journey to Acatenango Volcano, known for its breathtaking views of the active Fuego Volcano. This immersive hiking experience allows you to connect with nature while exploring one of Guatemala's most spectacular landscapes. Be aware this is considered to be an "intermediate' difficult hike but it may also be considered "high difficulty" for others. Day 1: Guests will start their adventure at the Pachamama Tours office, where they will receive all necessary gear, including jackets, gloves, and hats. A comprehensive briefing will ensure everyone is prepared for the trek. Additional items like snacks, the Fuego hike, extra gear, private cabins, and porters are available for purchase at this time. The hike to the campsite usually lasts between 6 to 8 hours, depending on the pace of the group. Along the way, four designated breaks will be provided, and lunch will be served. (Please remember to bring your own toilet paper for the hike.) Upon arrival at the campsite, guests will be treated to stunning views of Fuego Volcano’s eruptions, visible against the night sky. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire gathering, hot chocolate, and a shot of whisky, followed by a satisfying dinner—everything is included in the tour package. Accommodation for the night is in our newly built, warm, wooden cabins, designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. These cabins are fully insulated to keep you warm and cozy during the chilly nights. Each cabin is equipped with comfortable beds and individual sleeping bags, ensuring you rest well after the day’s hike. The cabins also feature glass front doors or big glass windows allowing you to enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and witness the eruption of Fuego Volcano directly from your cabin. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and nature, offering a unique, unforgettable experience. Day 2: The day begins early, with a 4 AM wake-up call to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the volcanic landscape. After a hot breakfast, we will begin the descent back to base, aiming to return to Antigua by 1 PM.
