Know before you go
- The hike requires a good level of fitness, agility, and intermediate hiking skills, as the path is notably steep. All operators follow the same standard route
- The only additional cost, charged on-site by most agencies, is the mandatory park entry fee 100 Q = 12 USD
- During your first day of hiking, there will be three bathroom breaks (please bring your own toilet paper)
- For added comfort, bring a pillow
- Dress warmly and bring sunglasses, extra socks, suitable hiking shoes, trekking gear, sunscreen, toiletries, a flashlight, a pillow, snacks, water, a simple raincoat, and a waterproof bag is recommended. While you can rent these items before we start hiking, being prepared is more cost-effective.
- As this is a shared tour, the group will hike together at a consistent pace. Your cooperation is important to ensure everyone enjoys a great experience
- Available separately from this tour is an optional 3-4 hour trek to the erupting Fuego Volcano, offered by locals at the camp
