Full description
Your full day excursion begins in the early morning when you’re picked up at your Antalya hotel and begin the drive to Pamukkale. After a lunch break you’ll visit the cascading snow-white terraced cliffs of this mysterious Cotton Palace. The calcite-laden waters that had created this unreal landscape come from springs located in a 200-meter high cliff that overlooks the plain. Marvel at the mineral forests, petrified waterfalls and the series of terraced basins created by these waters. At the end of the 2nd century B.C. the kings of Pergamon established the thermal spa of Hierapolis. The ruins of the baths, temples and other Greek monuments can be seen at the site. The temples were significant trade centers for ancient Hierapolis. See the Roman theater, the Apollo temple, Roman baths, fountains and the agora. After the tour, have a chance to swim in thermal pools. An additional option is to swim in Cleopatra’s Pool, for an extra fee.

Tour started at 7am. Patient and lovely tour guide. Tour included a stop at Lake Salda which we were not expecting but greatly appreciated as it was magnificent. Before reaching Pamukkale we stopped at a glass tour and then had lunch with a balcony view of pamukkale. Lunch was tasty and adequately filling with provision to pray when asked. Then we embarked on Pamukkale for which we had two hours free time. The walk up was a little difficult having to be barefoot and the distance, particularly ensuring we kept up with our guide (so worth ensuring you are able to call and receive calls abroad) but again amazing views. Make sure to wear sun protection as it gets very hot. Tour included swimming tickets in thermal springs which was a great experience-felt like a nice warm hug. We arrived back at our hotel at around 8pm. Overall no complaints ! A great day!

A very good day trip from Antalya that combines history and a relaxing dip in warm thermal water. We were picked up at our hotel by our guide, Barbaros, had a stop for some coffee at Lake Salda to view the white mineral shoreline and a quick stop at a factory that develops ebony into all kinds of artefacts. Our lunch stop gave us a spectacular view of the "cotton castle" as this travertine formation is also known which we visited later on. if you like your history, the ancient city of Hierapolis was built on top of this formation. The water is water is warm and said to possess some healing properties and was a good day to spend a couple of hours. after some free time to ourselves we were all taken back to our hotels. A very pleasant outing and a good way to see some of the surrounding area.

A very nice outing, all in all, to visit the travertine terraces and Hieropolis. Unfortunately there was not much water at the end of April, so not all the pools were filled at Pamukkale, but it was still quite spectacular. Hieropolis was a lot bigger than we had expected, so that took a bit of time to explore. Lunch was the least enjoyable. It would have been better to lower the price and exclude lunch, so that we can choose our own restaurant/food.
