It was great, we were very lucky. A small group of roundhead dolphins dived beneath us. One of them turned onto its back and looked straight at us – a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Then we were able to accompany a very large group (approx. 300 to 1,000) of bottlenose dolphins in the boat, and even a sei whale swam alongside us. We weren't allowed to go in the water because swimming with whales is prohibited. But that was totally fine. Lots of young and baby dolphins swam alongside the boat, clearly enjoying themselves and even doing somersaults and jumping out of the water. It was an incredible experience. The guides were always careful and considerate, looking after the people on board and not disturbing the animals in the water. Their interaction with nature was exemplary. We are so grateful. An action camera would have been great here. Taking your cell phone on the speedboat is at your own risk and tends to get in the way of the glimmering water.

An amazing tour! Bernardo picked us up in a Defender for a thrilling ride to the center of Terceira. We visited the volcano, the caves, a hidden lagoon and Bernardo marvelled us with his knowledge of the fauna and flora, and geological explanations. Bernardo was incredibly kind and attentive to our 8 year-old son, and gave us lots of recommendations and tips. I'd highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for an exclusive tour to those offbeat places that are still not known to most tourists.
