Angkor Wat Temple Hopping Tour with Sunset

Angkor Wat is to Cambodia what the Taj Mahal is to India -- an historical site of such majesty that it draws visitors from all over the world. As the world's largest religious monument, there's a lot to discover. Here are some facts to get you started.
The name roughly translates to 'Temple City' or 'City of Temples', which gives you sense of the scale. Like any good ancient city, it's surrounded by a huge moat and high walls.
Built resemble the mythological Mt. Meru, the center of the universe, this place was always intended to be the temple of all temples. It's no wonder they made it so big!
The temple features a cluster of five lotus-reminiscent towers, called a "quincunx," and multiple levels linked together by steep staircases, colonnades, and wide courtyards.
The walls of the temple are intricately carved with Hindu "devatas" (deities) and depict scenes from Hindu scripture, as well as defining moments for the Khmer empire at the time.
After decades of neglect, Angor Wat has undergone serious restoration efforts with the help of foreign institutions, resulting in a steadily increasing number of visitors.
Given the massiveness of this site, and how much there is to learn about its very walls, it is highly advisable to find yourself a guide.
There are three types of passes available; 1 day pass ($37), 2 or 3 day pass ($62) or 1 week pass ($72). Make sure you specifiy which pass you would like so as not to be over-charged!
You will be asked to show your visitors pass at many different points in the complex, so keep it handy at all times!

Really good tour. The company was on time for pick-up and we could get a good spot to see Angkor Wat during sunset. For the remaining time, we saw all main temples on the Angkor complex and took many good pictures. Our guide was particularly good for that! As feedback, the tour did not last as originally stated. For day 1 we were supposed to finish at 13 hrs; instead we were heading back by 11:40 am; we did not get enough time to appreciate the Bayon temple as we were rushing to the van to head back to the hotel. On day 2 we were heading at 3:30 but we could've stayed more in my opinion. As an advice to fellow travelers, I would spare an additional day to go back to the temples you liked the most (or to other additional temples, as there are many) either on your own or with a private guide.
Our guide was amazing - BAP. He was able to be flexible with the tour and give us very good information. Thanks again.
Very good guide. On the other hand, an unexplained error occurred: the payment was made in Russian rubles ...
