Full description

Join a guided tour along the Caminito del Rey, a one-direction walkway and one of Málaga's most breathtaking natural environments. Meet your guide at the northern access of the Caminito, at the ticket office. After check-in, get the necessary security items (helmets), and you'll be explained the use of radio guides and headphones so that you don't miss out on an explanation along the way. The guide accompanies the group from the entry up to the moment helmets are given, providing you with all the necessary information about the surroundings so you will complete your dream visit.

Fall in love with the stunning beauty of this unique environment and its fascinating history. The entire route is a marvel of 400 meters-high walls.

The path goes down to a mere 10 meters at its narrowest point. Below, the wild waters of the Guadalhorce river simmer and rush towards the coast. It is in this environment where, since the 19th and 20th centuries, a set of the railway and hydroelectric infrastructures were located that formed the backbone of the connections and the road network that has survived into the 21st century and has become the El Caminito del Rey walkway. Declared by the Junta de Andalucía as a Natural Area in 1989, it had already been classified as a Special Protection Area for Birds in 1987 and, since 2006, it is part of the Andalusia-Morocco Intercontinental Biosphere Reserve of the Mediterranean.

The site has been added to the list of Places of Community Importance in the Mediterranean Biogeographic Region. This natural enclave has been a focus of influence for the settlement and development of human groups in the surroundings of the natural area of Gaitanejo and El Chorro from prehistoric times to the present day, documented by the abundance of archaeological sites. The experience will leave you with unforgettable memories and amazing photos. Afterward, you'll come back to the Visitors' reception center with the guide on one of the shuttle buses.

This was an excellent walk, we really enjoyed it. If you’re ok with heights etc it’s not difficult or far. Our guide was great and the walk amazing but the directions to the meeting point didn’t make sense and weren’t really accurate. There are several parking spaces and you don’t need to shuttle from one of them, we still allowed an hour like suggested and needed it. We walked the first 1.5 km to the meeting point as you can’t drive there, we got lost. Then it took at least half an hour to line up to use the bathroom. Overall fabulous tour but poor instructions

Very Nice hike. Recomend doing The trip with The guide. However, The starting point of The hike is correct, but The Parking situation was confusing. We drove according to The gps and had to turn around. Went back to The first Parking, paid 2 euro to park, and took The bus to The next stop, which was The correct starting point. The gps starting point was a short hike to where The guided tour starts. Again, confusing. They should have better signs for what to do when you Get there. Otherwise, beatiful hike that i recommend highly.

Caminito del Rey was a good experience for me and my family. We paid to have the 2 hour guided tour and we enjoyed the walk through the mountain ravine and all the guide stories of how the pathway was built in 1904. It would be good to have a better microphone system for visitors since our guide was excellent but it was not easy to hear some of the details because the microphone was not great quality. However we got most of it so we appreciate the information.
