Full description

This 3-hours audio-guided tour will start right next to the harbor. Leaving the center and entering the beautiful Rauma Valley, along the Rauma River filled with salmon and the impressive mountains on both sides, our journey takes us to the first photo stop at the Trollwall.
After getting our first impressions of the imposing mountain scenery, we will continue towards Trollstigen. We will cross over the "Sogge Bridge" into the beautiful Isterdal Valley, where the spectacular "Trollstigen" serpentine road begins. Our coach driver will take us up 11 hairpin bends to the plateau, where we will have the next photo stop. From a spectacular lookout, we can see the entire scenery of this impressive mountain road, including the surrounding peaks and the wild Stigfossen waterfall. After a definitely unforgettable time on the top of Trollstigen, the route descends back down to Åndalnes. Let's relax and listen to our audio guide who will tell us about the history of Trollstigen and Åndalsnes on our way back to the harbor.

  • Trollstigen will probably be closed until the end of June/mid-July. If so we will do an alternative route including Slettafossen and Troll Wall
  • This tour is based on the arrival and departure times of the cruise ships. Modified departure times of the tour may change and will be communicated.

The guy was very professional . He explained clearly all the history of the place. He also added some personal details of his life in Norway. First hand knowledge is very helpful . The bus driver was very nice and drove safely. Although we did not see much because of the fog. The tour guide made it a very interesting tour. Will come back and hopefully see more .

Our cruise ship didn't update our tour company that it will/has arrived in port on time as originally scheduled. Previously, at 12am the ship had informed the tour operator that it will arrive 2 hrs late. Pushing the tour's buses back by 2 hrs. So our 11:30am departure was now 1:30pm. Another set back, the Troll hairpin road was closed due to a bad rock slide. The tour operator did email us about the road closure. However, the same email said it will take us on another route so we will be able to see the Troll hairpin road but just not able to drive on it. This was not the case, the location where we were taken to you couldn't see any part of the road at all. Big disappointment!!!! Feeling mislead!!! The Hairpin road view was a must see. However, we were taken on a scenic route to see small waterfalls in the distance and a bigger one close up, a stone railroad bridge that was in a Harry Potter movie and made a 1/2 hr stop a place to see the Troll Wall & to get something to snack.

Unfortunately the Trollstegen was closed due to a rock slide and we were told will be closed all summer. We were informed of this in advance and a waterfall was substituted. The scenery was beautiful . We were informed we would go to an area to view the road but you could not see the road, although it was a beautiful location. Our tour was 2 hrs starting late because the ship was supposed to arrive late but ended up on time without telling tour company. We would have preferred the earlier time as we would have had time for the gondola also. Overall it was a beautiful ride in the country, but different than what we were originally expected, but not the tour company's fault
