Stroll around at your leisure and admire the well-preserved historic windmills and houses.  Next, head to the fishing village of Volendam. That day I had a wonderful time with the tour. The most friendly and outgoing guides took us to picturesque and spectacular villages to show us Holland countryside life and history. The weather was on our side and the day is certainly one of those to be remembered! The perfect day trip: half day but long enough to enjoy the authentic Dutch hidden beauties.

It was a very fun day. I loved Zaanse Schans but as I had signed up for the windmill, I did not have any time to look at the adorable shops. I didn't understand why there wasn't 30 more min. there and just get in to Amsterdam later. Also loved Volendam and could have used longer there also. Marken was not that exciting. Just the wooden shoe demonstration and the village was cute but we didn't have time to see if there was anything else interesting there. All in all, needed more time in each stop to fully enjoy all that they had to offer.

Marcus and Fernando were AMAZING. Super funny and helpful with all the questions we had. The places were absolutely wonderful, totally worth visiting. As other people mentioned in the comments, you should be there slightly earlier then the specified time, about 15 minutes early, so you have your ticket printed. You shouldn't expect the tour to be 7-hours long (ours ended at 2:30 pm) and there definitely isn't enough time to take pictures. Although I am not extremely into taking pictures, I know we had about 10 minutes in the first location to take pictures and look around, 20 mins in the second destination which we ended up just hanging by the dock and 10 more at the last one. I think making the tour last about 1 more hour and thus adding 20 mins to each location, would greatly increase the quality of the tour. Overall, I think that the tour guides (jokes & singing) made the tour memorable and lovable, but of course, the craftsman were the stars. Thank you for the tour!
