Some of the highlights of your tour include the main Dam Square, where you can admire the National Monument and Royal Palace.
Travel around the beautiful Canal Belt to see Anne Frank’s House and the typical merchant houses from the Dutch Golden Age. Go to the famous Bijenkorf department store and the historic Stock Exchange building. Take a peek inside the Red Light District, and find some of the local markets.
You will then drive out into typical Dutch countryside, passing unique polders (land reclaimed from the sea) and small canals. Stop at the open air museum of Zaanse Schans on the Zaan River to look inside one of the historic windmills.
Visit a clog factory to learn how the famous wooden shoes of Holland are made. Continue to the picturesque fishing village of Volendam on the coast of the former Zuiderzee (IJsselmeer). Wander the streets to find typical wooden houses painted green, and keep a look out for locals dressed in traditional costume.
End with a visit to one of the last cheese farms where the cheese is still made according to traditions that date back centuries.
