We loved both activities. Caroline, our tour guide, and Kenny, our diver, were wonderful for Zaanse Schanse. We really loved our canal tour with Jack from Kinboat Amsterdam. Our only issue was we bought the combo pass and the booking for the boat is in the town center, not by the museum. By the time we got there, the boat tour we paid for was full and they did not want to refund me. The finally found room for us on another tour that we were told was better than we paid for. There was no clear instructions on the canal boat part and I think we lucked out.

I've never booked tickets online before but it was quite easy. It was good that we didn't have to stick to a rigid time slot as we had difficulty getting to the museum as the road was closed due to the Amsterdam marathon! I'm glad we persisted - such a great museum, and overwhelming that we could get so close to Rembrandt and Van Gogh paintings. We had trouble finding the meeting spot for the cruise as Maps took us to the wrong place (the maritime museum!), so we visited that before going back to the train station area which is where we thought it should be - we were right. The cruise was good (windows weren't very clear so it was difficult to get good photos), and we learned a lot. I would recommend this trip.

Loved the ease of getting ticket and easy access to museum had to use Google maps to get to boat trip note it is the red kiosk to left of front of museum. We went to this kiosk twice and we were sent on wild goose chase to find boat which so spoilt the experience. Finding the set off point was where we started was irratating and meant an hour wasted. It was so out of step with the hospitality of amsterdam
