Riding a bike is possibly the best way to get around Amsterdam, as distances are too vast to do everything on foot, boats can't get everywhere and cars, minivans and buses are not suitable for taking the narrow roads along the canals and not able to travel on the bicycle paths over Museum Square and Vondel Park. Parking a bike is also simple and can be done close to the Begijnhof and Civic Guards Gallery.
