Easy to find the bus after getting off the plane and going back from our hotel. The bus doesn't go into the city centre by the train station but does take you to major stops in Amsterdam such as the museums. The bus drivers were friendly and helpful with directions, but there are TV screens guiding you along the way. Plenty of space for the lounge as well. Would highly recommend it for easy travel into Amsterdam

Full description

The Amsterdam Airport Express (busline 397) provides a quick and easy transfer from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to the city center of Amsterdam. Departing approxamately every 10 minutes from bus platform B17. This bus takes you directly to Amstelveenseweg, Olympisch Stadion, Haarlemmermeerstation, Emmastraat, Concertgebouw, Museumplein (Rijksmuseum), Leidseplein or Busstation Elandsgracht. From there, you can get to many hotels in Amsterdam very easily. If you travel at night the same bus N97 goes once per hour between 01:00 and 05:00 hrs both directions.

Sit back and relax during the 25 minutes trip while you charge your smartphone, use the free WiFi and check your bus stop on one of the screens. The bus has a low entry so you can bring your luggage inside the bus and keep it with you.

For children 4-11 years you can buy a Kids Day ticket for only 1 euro from the busdriver. Under the age of 4, children travel for free.

  • Services between 5:30 AM and 7:00 PM run approximately every 10 minutes. During other time periods, services run 4 to 6 times per hour. Between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM, services run once an hour in both directions
  • Your return ticket must be used within 14 days of the date of your arrival journey
  • Tickets are valid on bus lines 397 and N97
  • For children between 4 and 11 years old, you can buy a Kids Day ticket for only 1 euro from the bus driver. Children under the age of 4 travel for free
