Go on a journey that began 3 billion years ago, 120 miles (200 kilometers) under the ground, and get access to Amsterdam’s Diamant Museum. Learn the history of diamond exploration and the craftsmanship involved in processing raw diamonds into jewels that adorn necks, wrists, and fingers around the world. Each stone has a story to tell, told via exhibits of replicas of 22 famous diamonds. Watch a short film that follows the diamond on its journey from its formation deep within the earth, through mining, distribution, trade, and processing. See splendid pieces of jewelry, including a renowned collection of diamonds and jewels from the royal House of Oranje-Nassau, and others gems famous for their history, or simply for their unique beauty. Experience a thrilling diamond heist in the new Laser Room. Test your acrobatics as you manoeuvre between the laser beams and try to reach the diamond. If you hit a laser beam, an alarm will go off. Do you dare?

    The history of diamonds is fascinating.

    I liked it a lot, but I thought they could talk more about Brazil's diamonds. One of the most beautiful collections in the world is in Portugal. From the second decade of the 18th century until the start of mining in South Africa, around 1870, Minas Gerais was the largest diamond producer in the world and I believe most of it was cut in Amsterdam. Brazil still produced in the twentieth century and continues to produce with new growth prospects in the sector in Bahia, Mato Grosso and Minas Gerais. Recently in Coromandel they found a 92 ct diamond. Unfortunately there was no time to go to Belgium (Antwerp)
