Learn all about Amsterdam and the Golden Age of the Netherlands on a 2.5-hour guided tour of the city center, including entrance to the cheese museum where you can sample Dutch cheeses. See the merchant houses of the Canal Ring, and more.
What to Expect
Enjoy a little bit of everything in Amsterdam on a guided tour of the historic city center that explores its history, art, architecture, and attractions, such as Anne Frank’s House and the canals of the Canal Ring.
Departing from Beursplein, close to Dam Square, stroll to the house where the World War II diarist Anne Frank hid from the Nazis with her family. Entrance to the Anne Frank House is not included, but your guide will tell you stories about her life, as well as life in the city during the war.
Next, admire the canals of the Canal Ring, built in the 17th century, and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the painter Rembrandt’s final resting place, and hear stories about his time in Amsterdam. Along the way, you will pass places that were important to him during his lifetime.
Take a break in a traditional Dutch pub (drinks not included), located besides the Cheese Museum. Free entrance to the museum is included for the chance to sample some authentic Dutch cheeses for free! Next, walk to one of the city’s most beautiful courtyards, pausing to tour a wing of the Amsterdam Museum. Admire modern and classical art works.
Continue to the oldest part of Amsterdam, and learn about Amsterdam's historic tolerance to the infamous Red Light District. End your tour in Chinatown to visit a bar of a family of resistance heroes in World War II (subject to availability).
