Full description

Explore one of the New 7 Wonders of the World on this private full-day trip to Petra from Amman. Admire beautiful monuments like the Treasury, the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, and Pharoah's Castle, and have the chance to hire a local guide to learn more about Petra's history.

After pickup from your hotel in Amman, set off on your 240-kilometer journey to the rose-red city of Petra by air-conditioned Sedan, stopping for a break along the way.

Upon arrival, take a trip on horseback to the canyon to see the so-called Siq, and then by foot to the most spectacular monument: the Treasury. Once you are in Petra, at the Petra Visitor Center, an optional guide can be arranged (at an additional cost) after your ticket purchase. If hired, your dedicated local tour guide will lead the tour inside of Petra and arrange entrance and logistics.

Stay close to your guide to capture the details of the fascinating history of the Nabateans who built the city out of rocks. You will have the opportunity to rest, eat, drink, and use the facilities while in Petra; just inform your guide.

At the end of the tour, your guide will escort you to the meeting point for the trip back to Amman.

Very good place to visit, valuable historical scenes. 3 hours drive from Amman to Petra slightly long but worth the time for such exciting tour. The company R&H VIP Transportation Services was very helpful during booking, their driver Abed was very helpful and added a lot of value to the tour. Value for money and very wothwhile tour.

A perfect way to see Petra . Get a Jordan Pass before arrival to the country to pay the entrance fee. The walk is long and arduous to see the Treasury and Monastary and anyone with limitation should ride the horse cart , golf cart( not free either ) or camel . Horse carts go too fast as on “ production time” , camels better pace if physically suited to ride and cost more . Golf cart nice but sparse and most expensive . Lots of constant attempts to fleece you but the site is totally amazing . Guide is not essential if you read up before trip. Our English speaking driver was very nice but his English was about like my Spanish “ Un poco”. Ok since his job was to drive.
