Take in views of the gorgeous golden hills along the way, enjoy lunch near the gold discovery site in Coloma, and make the most of some great swimming opportunities before you return to the original starting point.

Make memories on this white water rafting adventure surrounded by the nature of the American River. Enjoy a river trip that suits all levels, from first-timers to more experienced rafters, on one the South Fork of California’s most popular dam-controlled rivers. Get tips and safety instructions from a guide before starting to get the most out of the experience.   Begin the day by arriving at a 40-acre base camp with plenty of parking + restrooms, showers, and a camp store for last minute needs. Then, complete an extensive safety orientation to prepare you for your adventure. You'll be outfitted with a helmet, paddle, personal flotation device (commonly known as "lifejackets") and meet your guide. Board your raft, which will hold between 5 and 8 paddlers plus a tour guide.   Once on the river, glide by beautiful scenery and have the chance to see wildlife, ranging from river otters to turtles to deer and more. This afternoon adventure starts slow, allowing you to get into a groove with your crew. Enjoy breathtaking canyon scenery before you embark on exciting Class III rapids in the Gorge, led by your responsible and informative guide.   Eleven miles later at the end of your journey, you will find yourself at the Folsom Reservoir. Enjoy the convenience of a pickup be dropped off back at the base camp.

North Fork American River Whitewater Rafting Class IV

We meet you at the Crooked Lane Brewery in Auburn, California in the morning. Your guides will be there to greet you and you will have some time to say hello, use the restroom and get river ready before we load up into our shuttle and head to the river! The shuttle is about 40 minutes into the sierra foothills of Colfax, where we then drop into the North Fork American River canyon. We arrive at put in and get the rest of our gear on and rafts into the water. There will be a detailed safety and pre trip instruction talk prior to getting onto the river. The actions starts right after we launch with back to back Class IV and IV+ rapids, including Slaughter Sluice, Chamberlain Falls, Bous Thunder and more! We stop for a riverside lunch after the main action and enjoy this beautiful and special place. The North Fork River is clear, green and freshly flows from the snowpack. The afternoon rafting is mellower with several fun Class II and III waves until the take out where our shuttle will meet us again. We load up the boats and gear and head back to the brewery in Auburn for a cold drink and fond farewells.
