  • From Manaus: Negro River Half-Day Trip

    3. From Manaus: Negro River Half-Day Trip

Your trip begins with a pickup from your hotel. Head to the marina where a boat will be waiting for you. Depart upstream on the Negro River to visit an indigenous tribe that came from the border with Colombia and still keep their traditions, language, and rituals. Learn from them about their lifestyle and watch as they demonstrate their traditional rituals. Afterwards, visit a project that takes care of the freshwater pink dolphins. Have the chance to enter the water and touch these amazing docile creatures. Be sure to take photos of this unforgettable moment. Dolphins frequent this location because of the care and friendliness of the locals. Enjoy the rest of your trip on a beautiful, white sand, and warm water beach of the Negro River.

It was absolutely amazing! The tour was exactly as it's been promised n even better. The weather was ok in the beginning but as it seemed that is going to change I asked my guide Milto, I believe his name, to start from the dolphins as that was and my priority and he agreed. In general the guide was very informative, flexible, calm n fluent jn English! He didn't mind to extend the 4 hours that the tour was supposed to take and drive us as smooth as possible through the waves because on our way back there was a storm. I totally recommend the tour with this guide who actually is running a private business in Amazon so he knows how to treat tourists.

Wait wait I changed everything!!! I did a few tours with Milton!!! Book with him!! 150% recommended!!! Milton is out of this world stupendous!!! He made me feel 100% safe, taken care of, and he and his team of local guides showed so many great things!!! I felt for 4 days I was a local who had an inside track on EVERYTHING in the area!!! He was very trusting, very thorough, fast on his feet, in a place that does not lend itself to any of this. It felt like I booked one simple “Rubber boom tour” and through many small bumps in the road and twists and turns due to unforeseen circumstance like the pandemic. and weather, and logistics, instead of those things derailing my plans with Milton and his crew of locals it actually made the trip blossomed into a multifaceted multi day event of many tours which allowed me a behind the scenes tour of nearly all the highlights of this amazing part of the world called Manaus!!! MILTON AND HIS CREW ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spending the day with Milton exploring Manaus' fascinating rubber boom history was a definite highlight of our stay in the city! He knew his stuff and put together an interesting itinerary that included not only the well-known (and very impressive) opera house but also an outdoor museum of the rubber baron era to which we had to take a boat. I highly recommend this tour to anyone that wants to know why Manaus is Manaus.

Excellent day with a very nice guide who knows his subject well. Very rewarding visits on all levels: Amazonian forest, meeting of waters, people ... the buffet lunch was very varied and everything was good.
